Perhaps you've received a piece of spam this week from a bogus "Customer Support Center Robot" with an attached .zip file (named 'patch_4723.zip')? It's part of one of the largest "spam blasts" in the past twelve months, observe users in our security forum. The fake customer support e-mail arrives with the subject "Worm Alert!, Worm Detected, Spyware Detected!, or Virus Activity Detected!," and the zip file contains a version of the "Storm Trojan" worm. Rotarians give robotics team $250
The Six Legoteers robotics team from Campbell County Middle School discussed nanotechnology and robotics with the Campbell County Rotary Club April 4 at the school in Alexandria . The luncheon meeting came as the team was preparing for a trip to the international robotics competition in Atlanta, where it would compete with 104 teams from 42 countries. The Rotarians presented the Six Legoteers with a check for $250 to help them with expenses. .
Motor Becomes 'Unhuman'
British electro trio Motor have announced details surrounding the release of their sophomore LP, Unhuman, which is due stateside May 22 via Mute. The follow-up to last year's Klunk features the US-only single, "Dont Stop" and is said to deal with old themes explored by Fritz Lang's Metropolis, Isaac Azimov's Laws Of Robotics and Kraftwerk's cybernetic interface. Intuitive Surgical raises 2007 revenue view
April 19 (Reuters) - Robotic surgical systems maker Intuitive Surgical Inc. (ISRG.O: Quote, Profile, Research) raised its total revenue outlook for 2007. In a conference call, the company said it now expects its total revenue to grow up nearly 40 percent over 2006, compared with its previous forecast of 35 percent growth. It had reported total revenue of $372.7 million in 2006. Analysts on average expect revenue of about $509 million in 2007, according to Reuters Estimates.
