| Aussie firm develops online chat clone
An Australian company has found a way for bloggers to chat with their friends online without having to be anywhere near a computer or communications device. Sydney-based outfit MyCyberTwin.com has developed an application that uses artificial intelligence (AI) technology to simulate intelligent conversations. While such applications, known as chatterbots, have been around for a couple of decades now, MyCyberTwin is one of the first programs to allow users to actively educate their online personas to best suit their own. The online clone can chat on a user's behalf through social networks such as MySpace, blogs, dating sites and MSN instant messaging. For some, it's the online equivalent of the sort of autopilot conversations people have when they've been asked the same question a million times over.
Michael Jackson Robot to be 50 Feet Tall, Equipped with Lasers
Michael Jackson, who is currently planning some ostentatious Las Vegas show, wants to build a 50-foot robotic version of himself that will roam the desert, firing laser beams. I shit you not. The crazy, terrifying robot would be visible to airplanes landing in Vegas, which I'm sure will really hurt Vegas's tourism numbers. Talk about the last thing you want to see from an airplane window. No word on whether there will be a 35-foot-tall little boy for him to molest as well. Hiyo! –Adam Frucci Danger Room [via Yahoo] .

Furthermore, in what owner Duncan Rye describes as the most high tech garden shed youll find, robotics specialist Barr & Paatz has just installed and commissioned one of the latest generation of Mitsubishi six-axis articulated robots for feeding a CNC milling machine, a previously tedious and potentially hazardous manual operation. Developed specifically for handling low payloads up to 6kg and aimed particularly at small and medium scale enterprises, the Mitsubishi RV-6S has a precision repeatability of 0.02mm and working speeds of up to 9500mm/sec, enabling it to complete the 12-inch test in less than a second.
